| Distancing themselves from an old and tired existing office, NYK Shipping wanted a new and fresh start when they moved to Sunlife Tower, The Gateway. RHK designed the space around contemporary finishes with particular attention paid to the large graphics which were displayed right around the office to convey the nature of their business. Offices were also moved away from the window perimeter creating an air-lock type gap for thermal protection from the Western sun but also to enhance the visual pleasure of staff to enjoy the views. Custom clearance desks were also incorporated into the design helping give greater functionality for the client. This project is a fine example of how the Design and Build method fast-tracked the delivery of 35,000 sq. ft in under 11 weeks. |
