After completing over 60,000 sq. ft of corporate interiors for Swire Properties over the previous few years, Swire Hotels in 2007 (part of the Swire Property portfolio) asked RHK to complete their office in the Sincere Insurance Building, Hong Kong. Confronted with a tired bare shell open space, RHK was able to restore the relatively small space with a mixture of new, light and funky finishes. With Swire Hotels wanting to move away from a commercial office feel we set about introducing alternative fittings to give the space a sense of the client’s primary focus. We designed a chandelier to the waiting area and a multifunction kitchen that doubled as a bar and touchdown meeting facility. Life images were also suggested to bring out the people side of the client’s core business. The back of house area albeit narrow was created for open and effective communication. Our scope of works included new lighting, painting, upgrade of electrical, mechanical and fire systems, new 120 degree workstations and floor finishes.
